This delightful Austin Healey 3000 Mark 1 is possibly the finest example currently for sale anywhere.  Complete with a BMI Heritage Certificate, this recent concourse prize winner was originally sold on May 30th 1960 to A. Bruggemann & Company – a dealership in Dusseldorf, Germany, then shipped across the Atlantic to California for a United States Serviceman.

In the early 2000s, the car was repatriated to the UK and converted to right-hand drive as part of a full chassis-up restoration by Chatham Healey – the go to specialists for Austin Healeys. The extensive history file includes fully documented photographic records of restorations to the body, engine, uprated triple carburettors.

Further work was carried out recently by John ‘Mr Big Healey’ Chatham to the gearbox, transmission, steering and suspension, whilst new shock absorbers were fitted before a professional re-trim of the interior, new mohair tonneau cover, hood and side screens were fitted. The portfolio includes full step-by-step details along with an album of photographs of this restoration process.

Throughout the car’s life, the car has been extensively maintained, all of which is evident to see in the car’s file alongside the original workshop manual and driver’s handbook. The present local owner has kept and maintained the car to an excellent standard in a heated garage and used only in dry weather.

This Austin Healey 3000 MK1 is now available for immediate inspection at The Classic Motor Hub and must be seen to be appreciated – you won’t find another MK1 Healey 3000 like this.
